The World Bank-Urban Unit has entrusted CEIS (Center for International Studies on Economic Growth), of the Faculty of Economics at Tor Vergata University, with the implementation of a distance learning program on Cultural Heritage and Sustainable Development. The Centre for International Studies on Economic Growth (CEIS-Tor Vergata) was established in 1987, in the School of Economics at the University of Rome ‘Tor Vergata’. It is engaged in international research and higher learning networking in the major fields of economics. Its research agenda continuously changes to reflect new economic phenomena and new projects with other research centres of excellence and individual scholars.

The learning program is based on an existing Master in Economics and Management of Cultural Goods, developed at the Faculty of Economics at Tor Vergata University in 2000.
The purpose of the program is the dissemination of information and knowledge of how management of cultural goods can create sustainable development in developing countries.
